WBC Super Flyweight Champion Tomas Rojas Defeats Juan Jose “Goofy” Montes

WBC super flyweight champion Tomas Rojas (36-12-1, 23 KOs) retained his title with a twelfth round TKO over Juan Jose “Goofy” Montes (19-2, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Arena Metropolitana in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico. Rojas was in command from the opening bell and got the win when Montes remained on his stool at the start of the twelfth round.

In the semifinal, former IBF flyweight champion Alberto “Topo” Rosas (34-6, 27 KOs) knocked out John Alberto Molina (28-18-3, 19 KOs) in round six of a bantamweight bout. Also, Campeón Azteca finalist Felipe Orucuta (20-1, 16 KOs) scored a third round KO over David Roque Ler Julio (30-9-0, 18 KOs) in a bantamweight clash
