Floyd Mayweather JR: WILL FIGHT VICTOR ORTIZ on September 17th!

By Geno McGahee

Floyd Mayweather, JR., 41-0, 25 KO’s, as first reported by RSR, was in talks with Victor Ortiz, 29-2-2, 22 KO’s, the current WBC Title. All of the marbles will be on the line at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 17th, on HBO Pay Per View.

Ortiz recently picked up the title with a spirited victory over Andre Berto, and he is an aggressive and relentless southpaw. Sound like anyone? This may be a preparation fight for an eventual showdown with Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather, JR., has been out of the ring since May 1st, 2010, when he defeated Sugar Shane Mosley by wide decision. His inactivity and the power of Ortiz may make the fight interesting. Stay tuned for more updates at RSR…
