WWE Turmoil: CM Punk, Chris Jericho & Wrestlemania 28

By Sean Farrell

So with all the heat I am now receiving for being a critic on the internet’s most beloved WWE Superstar CM Punk, there is some interesting news I have received about the WWE using one of my ideas.

Remember how I said Jericho bad mouthed Punk by saying: “Everyone is so excited that CM Punk mentioned me on Raw. Newsflash…I don’t give a s–t. Mind ur own business and stop rippin me off Punk.” Well, well, well, guess what?

Chris Jericho is stirring the pot in character, allegedly pushing for the feud of all feuds at Wrestlemania 28 with CM Punk that I have been calling for…Remember the “REALITY” era? Well I had suggested the WWE use every social media network to kick off the “Reality” era for obvious reasons (Basically who isn’t on social media) By using social media to keep storylines alive, you are taking kayfabe to another level, the level of “Real” and the WWE is starting to actually use the idea…You know what that means? It is time for me to do the same and the stir the pot some more.

Everyone gets bent out of shape when wrestlers take to the social media sites and trash one another. I for one play back. If you’re a heel, I as a writer WILL treat you as such to garner a rise from the crowd much like you do in a ring no matter how big a fan I am. If you’re a face, I am going to DESTROY you promo to promo and match to match like a buzzard picking at a helpless carcass, because as a face your supposed to be able to weather ANY storm, and I for one feel I am doing my part and helping making that storm a litter rougher.

Now for the pot stirring, let me start with Zack Ryder. Did you know Zack Ryder is allegedly selling more merchandise than most of the WWE roster? Ryder even outsells “The Great One” himself Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson in merchandise. You may be thinking “what is the big deal with that?” Well the big deal with that is, why is Ryder being made into a cheap Eric Young? Ryder has some solid in ring ability and is always a joy on camera as he never has a dull moment, so where is his legit push? Now before you start with the “Oh great another Ryder fan.” hear me out, RAW featured more talking than wrestling as expected from an “entertainment” company. But, shouldn’t an entertainment company be entertaining? The lackluster showings on RAW mean one thing to me and one thing only, PUSH THE GUYS WHO CAN ENTERTAIN!!! Now I am not saying make Ryder a WWE champion or anything like that, hell you don’t even need a belt on him at all. But why can’t Ryder have decent feuds with guys who do nothing already?

In another bright spot to my social media idea being used, Colt Cabana himself has just wrestled a dark match for the WWE and has been backstage quite frequently since Money in the Bank. Remember how I said it is not what you know but who? Well WOO WOO WOO YOU KNOW IT! Cabana knows Punk who is now in a pretty high place so Colt is getting a job real soon.

Another WWE Superstar has returned as well, a good friend of mine introduced me this guy a few months back and I must say I am very excited to welcome back Brodus Clay. Clay was injured at Extreme Rules and has been off of TV since as the WWE has recently shot a WWE Film with the former bodyguard of the infamous Snoop Dogg entitled “No One Lives”. This movie is supposed to be a horror movie much like the past “See No Evil” film.

Furthermore, I would like to add more s–t to the pot, CM Punk got a true WWE Rewind to show a past moment with the man (who has officially convinced me he has injected steroids into his brain with all his mumbo jumbo) The Ultimate Warrior ending the Honky Tonk Man’s Intercontinental Championship run like the good old days. That got me to this, what happened to Ezekiel Jackson and the Intercontinental title? I’m not going to answer that I will answer “What happened to the Intercontinental title?” however.

There was a time when the Intercontinental title had fueds and matches so big, it overshadowed most of the World title matches that usually followed. Remember “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Jeff Jarrett, Mr. Perfect (Who has a son who is being used as a tool in the WWE),Razor Ramon, Pedro Morales, and the even more legendary Macho Man Randy Savage and Chris Jericho? Those men were everything the Intercontinental title should be, can be and must be for wrestling to regain any sort of success but all of that relies on creative: Side note: They are still using the same amount of TV time on Mondays and Fridays as they always have, so with no time restrictions the company is not already used too, why can’t things be written on a particular blueprint like they used to be and add some structure to the storylines?

In closing, how else to you gain old ratings success? Great matches and storylines is a must, not in a heavy dose of one or the other however. Bring back shows like Livewire, Superstars, and Saturday Night Main Event to Saturday morning and evening (How great would it be for my kid to wake up and watch the WWE like did the F and be able to enjoy it like we all did?) There are many things to address and as I have written about Punk in previous writings “He CAN’T fix it” not because he isn’t talented, but because the problems are far greater than one wrestler…Where exactly is my WWE Ice Cream Bars? An excellent business strategy would’ve been to have that in the works and done right after it was brought up… Just Saying…
