Jerry Leiber DEAD – Songwriter of Elvis Hits “Hound Dog” and “Jailhouse Rock” DIES – THE DETAILS

Jerry Leiber, one half of one of the most esteemed and successful songwriting teams has died from cardi-pulmonary failure. He was 78 years old.

Leiber and his partner, Mike Stoller, authored hits like “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Stand By Me,” and “Yakety Yak.” The duo also wrote the songs: “On Broadway” and “Love Potion #9.”

The duo was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1985, the Producers Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two years later.
