British Boxing News: Rendall Munroe Back in Action September 24th

Rendall Munroe will be in line for another world title shot inside the next 12 months according to promoter Ricky Hatton. The Leicester southpaw will be back in action in at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge Arena on September 24th against a selected opponent. His non-title ten rounder will be the chief support when Hatton Promotions super-featherweight star Gary Buckland challenges Gary Sykes for the British title.

Munroe, 31, lost on points in a world title challenge against WBC super-bantamweight champ Toshiaki Nishioka last October and returned to winning ways beating Andrei Isaeu in April.

Hatton Promotions President Ricky Hatton said: “Rendall is up there with the best in the world and there will be another big fight at the highest level soon. I would like to see him regain the European title for which he is the mandatory challenger and then I am sure he would get another world title challenge. Rendall put his trust in Hatton Promotions and I am sure that he will become a world champion even though the 122lb division is so competitive.”
