Jorge Arce STOPS Simphiwi Nongqayi in the 4th

WBO super featherweight champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce (58-6-2, 45 KOs) gained vengeance with a fourth round stoppage of arch rival Simphiwi Nongqayi (16-2-1, 6 KOs) on Saturday in a grudge rematch at the Foro Promo Casa in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Nongqayi had previously defeated both Arce and his brother but tonight was a different story. Arce came out fast and furious, dropping Nongqayi in round one. A non-stop barrage of punches continued as Arce gave Nongqayi little room to breath. Arce was cut over the right eye during one of several head clashes. The bout was finally waved off in round four as referee Rafael Ramos stepped in. Time was 2:01.

Earlier, WBA #1 super bantamweight Victor “Vikingo” Terrazas (30-2-1, 17 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over Eduardo Becerril (13-9-2, 4 KOs). Terrazas dropped Becerril in round three and the bout was stopped in round four with Becerril under heavy fire. Time was 2:12.

Unbeaten hot lightweight prospect Mahonri “Rusito” Montes (23-0-1, 18 KOs) scored an eighth round TKO over Carlos Winston Velasquez (18-13-1, 10 KOs). Time was 2:42.

Flyweight Richie Mepranum (24-2-1, 5 KOs) outpointed Valentín “Picoco” León (21-26-3, 10 KOs) over six by scores of 60-53, 60-53, 59-54.

Unbeaten super featherweight Miguel “Barreterito” Beltrán (26-1-0, 17 KOs) topped Sergio “Sirenito” Pérez (24-13, 16 KOs) in an eight-rounder by scores of 77-74, 77-74 and 78-72.

Welterweights Francisco “Kikin” Rios (3-2-2) and Abaham Álvarez Osuna (14-1-1, 7 KOs) battled to a four round draw.
