Ramon Garcia READY TO RUMBLE

Defending WBO Light Flyweight Champion Ramon “Principe” Garcia hours ago arrived at the Silay Airport in Negros Occidental, Philippines for his scheduled world championship bout against local hero and former WBO Minimumweight World Champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes.

Garcia set foot for the first time in Bacolod City with his twin brother former world champion Raul Garcia and their team of trainers. Meeting them at the airport was ALA Promotions Director for Marketing and Media Relations Chad Canares who was with ABS-CBN News crew that interviewed the Mexican champ.
When asked how he feels about fighting Nietes in his home town, Garcia said through his interpreter that he is ready and confident of winning his first title defense.

Team Garcia was immediately whisked to Bacolod City and is checked in at the East View Hotel. Garcia will be featured in a Media Day today October 4, 2011 at the SM City Bacolod Entertainment Center at 5 PM in the afternoon where the media will get to meet the Mexican and his team for the first time.

Ramon Garcia will again hit the SM Mall the following day October 5, 2011 still at the SM City Entertainment Center in Bacolod for the PINOY PRIDE 9 PUBLIC WORK-OUT where he will showcase his training styles to the public.

This will be the first time Bacolod City will get to experience a world class boxing world championship event. PINOY PRIDE is a brainchild of ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports where they not only showcase the Filipino fighters but what the Philippines has to offer to the world.
