Georges St. Pierre Vs Nick Diaz: Will It Happen?

By Sean Farrell

If this fight doesn’t happen, I personally want Nick Diaz banned from MMA FOREVER! Apparently the UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre feels the same way and just wants Nick Diaz to make all his media obligations and keep his fight on schedule for UFC 143 in February. St-Pierre and Diaz is the planned main event after Diaz was pulled from their originally scheduled fight at UFC 137 due to not showing up for press conferences and other media obligations.

“Rush”, while spoke at UFC on FOX 1: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos, and understands why Diaz took the road he did to get a title shot over Carlos Condit. The former Strikeforce welterweight champion called out St-Pierre after defeating BJ Penn in the main event of UFC 137 last month.

“I think he’s very smart, in a way,” said St-Pierre “I don’t think he’s a bad person, I think he disrespected me to push me to try to have a title shot. And I just hope he shows up for the press conferences and all his responsibilities that are around the fight to make this fight happen because I want to fight him.”

UFC 143 takes place February 4 from Las Vegas, Nevada. St-Pierre is currently recovering from a knee injury suffered in training earlier this year, a knee injury in which Diaz said the champ was faking and was simply “scared of him”.

I am expecting everyone who claims GSP doesn’t finish fights to get their popcorn ready, because GSP will be putting on a clinic come February and proving why he is arguably the best Pound-For-Pound Fighter on this planet..
