Mariusz Zaromskis – KO AT RUMBLE OF THE KINGS SHOCKS FANS

By Sean Farrell

There may not have been a UFC or Strikeforce event over the weekend, but MMA was by no means sleeping after Thanksgiving, especially in Sweden.

One of my favorite kick boxers Mariusz Zaromskis gave me a highlight reel for eternity when he somersault kicked Bruno Carvalho in the head at Rumble of the Kings.

“The Whitemare” made it two in a row in a very very big way, knocking out the 13-5 Carvalho with a series of devastating blows that started with the flashy and greatly effective somersault kick. Carvalho tried to recover, clinging to one of Zaromskis’ legs looking for a desperate takedown, but Zaromskis kept up the assault using his kickboxing base of punches and knees that eventually put him down for the count.

The 31-year-old Lithuanian improved his record to 16-6, going 2-0 since dropping a unanimous decision to Jordan Mein last June. Zaromskis has been impressive in both sports of kickboxing and MMA, and its no wonder when you can land kicks that usually require a combination of back, forward, LB+B on a XBOX360 controller.
