Nonito Donaire – Wilfredo Vazquez JR – BOXING RESULTS

Nonito Donaire, 28-1, 18 KO’s, picked up the vacant WBO Super Bantamweight Title with a 12 round split decision over Wilfredo Vazquez, JR., 22-2-1, 18 KO’s, by scores of 115-112, 117-110, and 117-110.

Donaire had difficulties figuring out the style and defense of Vazquez, but he found the mark on a couple of occasions, knocking him down late in the fight with a left hook.

The jab of Vazquez busted up Donaire, but he wasn’t willing to open up because of the feedback. Although this was a split decision, it was pretty clear that Donaire won the fight, although he didn’t win it in spectacular fashion.
