Manny Pacquiao – Timothy Bradley BOYCOTTED: Boxing Ticket SHOCKER – GAY COMMUNITY VICTORIOUS

By Geno McGahee

Manny Pacquiao, 54-3-2, 38 KO’s, will be heading into his big PPV fight with the challenge of Timothy Bradley, 28-0, 12 KO’s, on June 9th, but the West Hollywood Gay and Lesbian Organization will be boycotting this fight.

Andrew Sorento of the group noted that: “Manny’s comments are a disgrace to athletes around the world. My organization and the gay community here will not be purchasing tickets to this upcoming fight!”

Pacquiao recently apologized for his hate speech against homosexuals, but there was an obvious twisting of his arm. His promoter probably called him immediately and told him that if he cherished money, apologize. With a big Nike deal on the table, I wouldn’t be surprised seeing Pacquiao march in the gay parade.

How much impact will this negative press mean on this fight? The first thing to consider is that Bradley is not a big name in boxing. He’s a fighter with heart and grit but he doesn’t have the punch to concern Manny. So, this is a relative tough sale to begin with. When you add in the subpar undercard and the anti-gay hate speech of Pacquiao, we may see a significant drop in the viewership.

June 9th will give us our answer.
