High School SHOOTER – INDICTED – Columbine in OHIO – SHOCKING DETAILS

By Geno McGahee

T.J. Lane, 17, has been indicted by an Ohio grand jury on charges that he killed 3 students and wounded 3 more in a high school shooting last February, in a city near Cleveland. He will not be facing the death penalty, but at 17, he could be looking at life in prison.

A sheriff’s deputy testified that he had found Lane sitting on the side of the road, shortly after the murders, and Lane noted that he had aimed for the victims’ heads because he didn’t want them to suffer. When Lane was found by the road, he did have a handgun and knife on his person.

Those killed were Demetrius Hewlin, 16, Russell King, 17, and Daniel Parmertor, 16, victims of random gunfire it appeared. Lane would fire ten shots from his .22 caliber pistol while in the cafeteria. If those three were targets is still unknown and the motive remains unclear.

The defense is arguing that Lane suffers from mental problems and that the killings were not purposeful. They argued that justice would be better served if this case was tried in juvenile court.
