Julian Rivera STUNS Edgar Jimenez in REMATCH – Boxing News

In a highly anticipated rematch, WBC Latin flyweight champion Julian “Chicano” Rivera (13-6, 2 KOs) pounded out a twelve round unanimous decision over Edgar “Power” Jimenez (15-8-1, 11 KOs) on Friday night at the Foro Polanco in Mexico City. Their first encounter, last July 13, was a twelve-round all out war with Rivera edging Jimenez by split decision (114-113, 113-114, 117-113) to capture the title. The fight was so close that the WBC ordered an immediate rematch. This time there was no question as Rivera was in command over the second half of the fight and pulled away to a clear cut 117-112, 117-112, 117-111 victory.

Super flyweight David Carmona (16-1-2, 9 KOs) scored a fourth round KO over Ariel “Ruso” Gonzalez (5-5-4, 1 KO). Carmona dropped Gonzalez in round one and twice in round four. Gonzalez was down for several minutes.
