Audley Harrison: Wladmir Klitschko Next? – British Boxing News

Harrison training at home for Oct 13 showdown with David Price on WealthTV

Audley Harrison has resisted going to a training camp for his ‘Battle of the Olympians’ clash against David Price and remained at home with his family. A Force’ gets his final big time opportunity when he challenges unbeaten British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price (13-0) at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Saturday October 13 on WealthTV.

Harrison, 40, usually locks himself away on California’s Big Bear Mountain, but for this big test he has stayed with wife Raychel and daughter Ariella in the United States. The 2000 Sydney Olympic gold medallist said: “When I was young, free and single I would go away and lock myself in training camp. It was all me, myself and I. I have got a beautiful wife, a beautiful daughter and my strength is in my family. If I went to camp it would be like a disconnection.”

Harrison’s trainer Kelvin Travis is also living at the Harrison family home in Westlake Village on the outskirts of Los Angeles and the pair arrive in Britain on Thursday allowing nine days to acclimatise.

Audley (28-5) added: “Training at home is a smart move to do as long as you can pay the price. I have been able to focus and Kelvin is living with me and I definitely haven’t cut corners. I haven’t taken the fight for a payday. I have spoken about redemption, but obviously I want to do myself justice. I will do that win, lose or draw.”

The talent stacked 14 fight card also includes a vacant British cruiserweight title fight between Shane McPhilbin (8-3) and Jon Lewis Dickinson (11-2), Chris Edwards (17-14-4) making a British and Commonwealth flyweight title defence against local Kevin Satchell (8-0) and a British light-welterweight title eliminator between Adil Anwar (17-1) and Dale Miles (13-1).

The October 13 Price-Harrison event is available live at WealthTV.com. WealthTV is available on Verizon FiOS TV (channels 169 and 669 in HD), AT&T U-Verse TV (channels 470 and 1470 in HD), along with over 100 cable systems across the country.
