Gennady Golovkin, 25-0, 22 KO’s, battered Gabriel Rosado, 21-6, 13 KO’s, into a bloody mess, prompting his corner to stop the fight in the seventh round. The IBO and WBA middleweight titles say with the champ tonight.

Golovkin has been compared to Julio Cesar Chavez and Mike Tyson because of his style, and it’s a very fair comparison. His punches are destructive and he cuts off the ring the way that a prime Chavez used to do. He is incredibly impressive and may be the guy to finally beat Sergio Martinez should that fight ever happen.

Rosado fought his heart out, but he was just in over his head. Golovkin is a star and I can’t see many middleweights being able to deal with him. It was another great win for the powerful champion.
