CM Punk, The Rock, John Cena & More – ELIMINATION CHAMBER RESULTS & MORE – WWE News

By Dani Mitchell

WWE must be listening to WWE Universe a little bit. The wrestling fans have been complaining for months now about predictability, and the WWE gave us some surprises last night. Problem? Oh, most of the surprises were awful and ones we didn’t want to see. Read on to find out why.

The elimination chamber started out with Jericho and Daniel Bryan. Once again we saw the strength of Daniel take on the agility and power of Jericho. They were pretty evenly matched, when the clock ran down both were still in the ring, and in comes Jack Swagger. Swagger showed up with the intent to win. He was showing some dominance, but then Kane’s pod opened up. Kane and Bryan start to team up to take on Swagger and Jericho. The partnership didn’t last long when Bryan turns on Kane, trying to pin the big red monster. By far the coolest thing that happened was when Kane and Jericho hit the Road Warriors finisher on Bryan. Swagger almost pins Bryan after that but is unsuccessful. Even though there has been a few near falls, no one had been eliminated when Randy Orton’s pod opens.

Orton comes out energized and takes out everyone except Kane who hits an uppercut. Orton then retaliated with a drop kick. Orton goes after Kane for a while, but instead of going for the pin when Kane was down, he goes after Swagger. All the men are exhausted and down on the mat when the last pod opens. Mark Henry comes out with aggression and takes out everyone in his way; he hits the world’s strongest slam on Bryan and gets the pin. Bryan is the first to be eliminated. Henry and Kane go a few rounds before The World’s Strongest Man hit him with the slam and pins Kane.

Orton, Swagger, and Jericho did the smartest thing they could have done by turning all their energy to a team effort against Henry. Swagger hits the big boot, followed by a Jericho Code Breaker, then an RKO from Orton. Orton gets the pin and Henry is eliminated. Before leaving for good though, Henry takes his anger out on all three remaining men. Booker T, Teddy Long, and a ton of refs had to come contain the angered beast.

The last three have intense battle, back and forth. Orton hits the DDT on Swagger and Jericho at the same time, then he lines up for the RKO on Jericho, and Jericho is eliminated. Swagger quickly rolls up on Orton for the pin and wins.

Yes, you heard me right. Jack Swagger, who has been absent from WWE for the longest time, beat Randy Orton. This was really shocking not just because of his absent, but because Orton fans finally thought that this was The Viper’s chance to get his push. He gets a huge pop from the crowd week after week but they have yet to capitalize on Orton’s potential. No push this week Randy.

The second big shock of the night was the match between Cena, Sheamus, Ryback vs. The Shield. A brawl breaks out before the bell even rings. After the bell rings though, it doesn’t get any less intense. The Shield was smart. They would gain some ground with Cena and would quickly cycle in and out of the Ring taking shots. At one point Ryback had taken out all three members of the Shield. He then threw Ambrose into Rollins but before he was able to do anything else he was taken down by Reigns. Outside the ring Sheamus is fighting with Reigns. Reigns pulls off a spear that I haven’t seen executed so well since Edge had done it. He spears him through a barricade. Rollins tries to do a high flying move on Ryback but Ryback catches him. They attempt to do their signature triple power bomb but Cena attacks reigns and hits the AA on Ambrose. Ryback has Rollins up and ready for Shell Shocked but Reigns hits him with a spear and Rollins pins Ryback for the win.

Honestly, I think the reason the Shield pulled off such a fantastic win was because they work so well together. They are actually pretty incredible to watch. There is no one man that outshines the other. You are constantly watching to see how one member will be helping or working with another. Incredible win over the faces!

The Main Event of Punk vs. The Rock. The match started off slow but then gained momentum. Punk managed to get The WWE champ outside the ring and gave him a Rock bottom on the announcer table. Talk about insult to injury, it must be awful having your own finisher performed on you by your competitor. Anyways, after 9 counts, the Rock finally makes it back into the ring to avoid the count out.

Rock then hit Punk with a Rock Bottom but Punk Kicked out after near fall. In true WWE fashion, the ref manages to get knocked out. Punk hits the GTS on The Rock and then covers him for at least 10 seconds but there is no one to count. Heyman tried his best to get the ref up or a new ref in the ring but was unsuccessful. The Rock kicks out and the match continues. The Rock hits the people’s elbow but Punk is able to kick out. Talk about a great match. Punk and Rock really gave a great show to the people with lots of near falls and a strong offense from both. But finally, the Rock hits another Rock Bottom and gets the three count. The Rock retains the Championship.

Tomorrow on Raw there is going to be an explosion of emotions. One reason is because even though the Main Event was a great match, The Rock didn’t get a clean win on Punk. Punk had him beat by a good 7 seconds. I am sure Heyman will be fighting in his corner. Also, Team Good Guys (AKA – Sheamus, Cena, and Ryback) are not going to be happy, they all looked very confused by the loss. Finally, if I were Randy Orton I would be out to prove myself and take on everyone. I am hoping this is leading up to HEEL Orton. It is the only possibility left if he is going to have any future success.

So be prepared for a lot of brawling and a lot of arguments to break out on Monday Night Raw.
Also, in case you haven’t heard WWE is going to be streaming live at NOON for a special announcement. There is a lot going on this Monday. Stay tuned Kiddies. And send me your thoughts on Twitter @BuckeyeBrain. An Okay Night for Heels but disappointed for the King of Heels, Punk. It’s okay though kiddies, I feel an up rise of heels taking over the show …. Soon… very soon.
