Tyson Fury: Steve Cunningham BOXING WAR HEATS UP – Heavyweight Boxing Action in NYC

Article & Photos by Joe Henson, NYC

What started as a polite exchange of respectful compliments degenerated into a heated display of mutual animosity and disdain at the Fury/Cunningham Pre-Fight Press Conference held at historical Jack Demsey’s in New York City! Tyson Fury, the 24 year old 6’9” contender shattered the illusion of gentility when he declared that this would be a “3 hit fight – I hit you (Cunningham), you hit the floor, and then I hit the town to celebrate!”. Once Fury got up a head of steam, he threw in the kitchen sink, stating that there wasn’t a heavyweight alive who could stand his assault. He also called Klitschko “a big bitch”!

Former Cruiserweight World Champion Steve “USS” Cunningham, who earlier had called Fury “obviously, a giant” for his part countered with a declamation of his “street creds”, having grown up on the mean streets of Philadelphia. Cunningham said that where he’s from, “Big talkers are all talk and no fight!”. The winner of this bout will become #2 and must meet #1 to establish the mandatory challenger for current heavyweight champ, King Wladimir Klitschko.

Stay tuned on April 20th at Madison Square Garden to see if David slays Goliath!

On the undercard, Curtis “Showtime” Stevens will take on Derrick “Superman” Findley.
