Jean-Claude Toviave Sentenced to 11 Year: Tennis Star’s Slaves Get Justice

By Geno McGahee

Jean-Claude Toviave, a former tennis pro, has been caught bringing in young children from Togo, an African nation, to the US, and putting them into slavery positions. He was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for his misdeeds.

Toviave offered no apologies to the children or families that he had hurt. He used fraudulent immigration paperwork that stated that he was their biological father, which was a lie.

The victims told their stories, which turned out to be a horror tale. Toviave beat them with toilet plungers, broomsticks and electrical cords. He starved them and forced them to do the housework and even shine his shoes.

The following is an excerpt from one of the statements by one of the victims: “The physical torture, beating me and starving me, you inflicted was so painful that I prayed at night that God would either help me to be free or allow your assaults to kill me…the pain is something I will never forget. In the midst of your verbal and physical assaults, you worked the four of us to death.”

Toviave will now be locked away and the victims have been given some money to soothe the pain. Their nightmare may not be completely over, but at least they are free from their tormentor.
