Undertaker, CM Punk, Rock, John Cena, Triple H & Brock Lesnar: MAJOR WRESTLEMANIA UPDATE – WWE NEWS

By Dani Mitchell

With less than 2 weeks to WrestleMania, this week’s RAW stepped it up a little more to make up for the flop in Pittsburgh. For one, CM Punk made his appearance in the ring, John Cena and the Rock were both in attendance, and some of our Hall Of Famers was also there.

Raw started off with CM Punk who was accompanied to the ring by Paul Heyman. Punk, with urn in hand, played around with it. He even had Heyman toss it to him as he did Heisman Trophy like poses. If you thought it was a bad omen when Punk accidently dropped the urn last week, he dropped it on purpose this week claiming that the urn has no meaning to him, or at least not the meaning that he holds to Undertaker. After speaking for a while, the gong stuck and the lights went out. When the lights came on, Undertaker was in the ring and immediately laid into Punk. All was saved though when Paul Heyman recovered the urn and ran up the ramp to safety. The urn itself has made this rivalry very heated. It may not be featured as the main event of WrestleMania, but Undertaker and Punk are sure to steal the show.

Tonight Fandango was finally supposed to debut. After entering the ring and waiting on his opponent, it was Chris Jericho that ran down the ramp and attacked. Fandango retreated; leaving the crowd to thing Jericho made his point after last week when Fandango attacked him. When RAW returned it showed Ziggler with his posse coming down to the ring for his match against Jericho. Finally a clean match, with little involvement from Ziggler’s crew; leading to Jericho winning with the Walls of Jericho.

If I must say so myself this was a perfectly executed Walls of Jericho. Unfortunately, nothing is that easy.
While Jericho was celebrating his win, Big E entered the ring and sucker punched Jericho, attacking him and leaving him vulnerable for another attack from Fandango. This event led to Jericho announcing that he will win against Fandango on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. Really? Fandango gets a match at Mania. I love Chris Jericho, and he makes anyone look good, but this is not my dream match for Jericho, there are so many other opponents that I would like to see him face.

Alberto Del Rio would face Antonio Cesaro in a champion vs. champion match. The match was going along smoothly until Jack Swagger came out of nowhere and attacked Del Rio’s sidekick. Swagger immediately went after the injured ankle of Rodriguez. Del Rio went to the aide of his friend but the damage was down and Del Rio was counted out. Cesaro began his celebration only to be attacked and put in the arm bar by Del Rio causing him to tap out in pain. Swagger had made his point though getting under the skin of Del Rio.

Triple H addressed the crowd about his match up against Lesnar. The King of Kings seems confident that he has the match won. He went on to say,” Brock Lesnar, I have advice for you. Show up to WrestleMania like your career is on the line…show up at WrestleMania ready to fight like your life depends on it. Because it very well might.” This was short, sweet and to the point. Triple H is ready for WrestleMania.

The Shield had a match against Kahli, Gabrielle, and Ryder. This was an odd pairing for a match but hey, it was inevitable that this was just the set up for Orton, Sheamus, and Big Show to come out and show their dominance. After the shield won, the three found themselves surrounded and it became clear that Orton and Sheamus are finally on the same page with Big Show.

It seems though WWE are setting up a WrestleMania match for AJ Lee vs. Kaitlyn. Backstage Kaitlyn was talking to Team Hell No about not letting AJ get under there skinned when she called her the “C” word. Which in AJ land the trigger word is Crazy. The 2 got into a scuffle and were then given a match. Kaitlyn went for the win with a spear but missed and lost by count out. This feud is far from over. I expect it to heat up.

Finally Raw closed out with a Q & A with Hall Of Famers addressing the Rock and Cena. The five hall of famers to join us was Booker T, Bret Hart, Dusty Rhodes, and Mick Foley. Dusty Rhodes was on it! He got them fired up by basically asking where the heat is for this rivalry. We have seen Cena and Rock playing nicely this time around. No one wants to see nice, we want heat and humiliation! Dusty says enough about respect! I agree with Dusty! Other than that, there wasn’t a lot else going on with the panel. Finally, The Rock said these words… “There’s another legend and when I was young I wanted to be just like him. And he has a saying ‘To be the man, you have to beat the man.’ And you aren’t the man.” (Referencing Ric Flair). Then he gave Cena the Rock Bottom.

All in all, there was a little more heat than next week, but I feel like the talent is holding back a bit since WrestleMania is around the corner. I guess we will see what they have in store next. The WrestleMania card is being filled up and changed left and right. I’ll keep you updated my wrestling babies.
