Lightning struck twice as Tony Thompson, 38-3, 26 KO’s, stopped David Price, 15-2, 13 KO’s, with a vicious assault in the fifth round of their heavyweight rematch. Price, with Lennox Lewis in his corner, seemed more confident and put Thompson down in round two, but the American heavyweight could rebound and get his momentum going. Price was visibly tired and became a stationary target for the experienced contender. Thompson proved the first fight was not a hoax and can now move on to a bigger opportunity. His only losses of note were to the best heavyweight on the planet, Wladimir Klitschko.
