Demetrius Andrade OUTPOINTS Vanes Martirosyan: BREAKING BOXING RESULTS – Boxing News

By Geno McGahee

The vacant WBO junior middleweight title was decided with Demetrius Andrade, 20-0, 13 KO’s, survived a first round knockdown to dominate Vanes Martirosyan, 33-1-1, 21 KO’s, but would have to settle for a split decision by scores of 114-113, 117-110 and 112-115.

The reach and skill of Andrade made the difference in the fight as he hit Martirosyan cleanly to the head throughout. He never hurt him, but he controlled him and there was no desperation on the part of Vanes to try to repeat what he did in the first round. RSR had it clearly for Andrade at 118-109. It wasn’t exciting, but it was clear.
