After consecutive KO losses to Tony Thompson, British heavyweight hope David Price (16-2, 14 KOs) scored a quick first round KO over over late sub Istvan Ruszinsky (12-10-1, 8 KOs) in his debut under the Sauerland Event promotional banner. A body punch dropped Ruszinsky and ended the fight at 2:00. The bout took place at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer Halle in Stuttgart, Germany.

In a clash of unbeaten middleweights, Emanuele Blandamura (22-0, 5 KOs) won a twelve round split decision over Marcos Nader (18-1-1, 3 KOs) to claim the EBU-EU belt. Blandamura outworked Nader to win by scores of 115-113 and 117-111 on two cards. Nader was up 115-113 on the third card.

Unbeaten light heavyweight Enrico Koelling (12-0, 4 KOs) scored a third round stoppage of Paata Aduashvili (8-3-2, 5 KOs) to win the vacant WBO Youth belt. Koelling dropped Aduashvili several times with body shots.
