Floyd Mayweather: “He bit my hand, he bit my fingers. My fingers were numb. My hand was numb. I really couldn’t use my left hand, but I won the best way I know how. We were tangled up in the center of the ring and he bit me. He bit my left hand.

“I felt sharper in the first fight. This time I felt dry and dead and my fingers were numb after the eighth round.

“I’d give myself a C-. I could have been better…I got hit with some shots tonight I should’t have got hit with, but that comes with the sport.

“I’m going to go back to talk to my team to see what we can assess, to see what the future holds for Floyd Mayweather. And once again, I’m not ducking or dodging no opponent. If the Manny Pacquiao fight presents itself, let’s make it happen.”

Marcos Maidana: “I thought I won the fight, but if judges like to give the fight to fighters that run I guess they gave it to him. I felt I was the aggressor and kept the pressure.

“He kept holding and pushing, but the ref wouldn’t do anything about it. Instead he took points away from me.

“Maybe he thinks I’m a dog, but no I didn’t bite him. He was rubbing my eyes with his glove. Maybe he had his glove in my mouth. That doesn’t mean I bit him.

“For me I think I won.”
