Roger Goodell – “Groundhog Day” has Not Come Yet Resign NOW! – Breaking NFL News

Somehow, nature must have fast forwarded 5 months to February 2, 2015 because a groundhog has managed to reemerge. No, not the furry, cuddly, creature who plays part-time weatherman by tipping us off as to the end of winter. No, it’s another type of groundhog. The one who has hidden for the past 9 days of a blizzard of epic proportion. The one who has buried himself in the ground while members of the organization of which he serves as a leader manage to besmirch that organization’s integrity. The one whose head was buried in some sort of sand-like substance when video taped evidence emerged of a football player pummeling his wife to a pulp and showing further disregard as he allowed her lifeless body to lay on a cold, sterile floor.

Yes, the one who disregarded his own due process by failing to uncover all of the evidence in a particular instance, instituting a policy in reaction to his initial snafu, and further disregarding his own policy after bowing down to public opinion and outrage.

This man, whose guidance in child abuse, spouse abuse, drug abuse, and other ails currently plaguing the NFL has amounted to nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction and an afterthought of could have, would have, and should have.

Domestic violence is real! Whether in the bounds of sports, in any American Family, or amongst government officials, it is real and should not be taken lightly. With the resources available to the NFL, his claim of ignorance is baseless and insulting. In fact, not 3 years ago, Goodell scolded a coach whose defense was ignorance in yet another scandal, “Ignorance is no excuse!”

Well Goodell, neither ignorance nor incompetence is an excuse. As the details of the various investigations emerge, Goodell is being exposed as inept at best. What history will show him to be remains to be seen, but my suggestion to the groundhog is that he goes back in his hole, covers it up, and pray that an avalanche of snow covers him up until a credible leader emerges from this winter of discontent and demise.

Goodell must go!
