Floyd Mayweather, JR. Banned From Boxing

“Bad” Brad,

I just read on Fightnews that Floyd Mayweather staged the drugs and there were breaks during the sparring in his gym that showed on All Access. I am throwing the bullshit flag. I told my wife when I saw it that the weed stuff was too much. I don’t care what anyone does in their personal time but to show that on TV like that and shame on Showtime too! Floyd’s antics and total smugness need to get him banned from boxing. What do you think?

Ace A. Newark, NJ

Ace,

Funny you mention this entire event! I also told my girlfriend Debbie that I felt it was too much to show that crap. The way Showtime did it, made it like it was cool to the kids to have all those good looking women and Floyd sending someone out to the store to buy papers. Do I think it was staged? Honestly, I don’t know because it is essentially, Reality TV. Sure, Floyd should have been called on it, but Showtime head honchos should have been right next to him at the table. Do I think he should be banned from boxing for it? No, I don’t. Should he show better judgment having kids himself, that he prides himself on, yes, he should!

GGG Fan

Brad,

I found an article you did on Bing about GGG and man I could not agree with you more that a fight between him and PBF would be huge. Screw Pacquiao he is shot. Do you really think it can happen?

Scott B.

Scott,

Any fight can be made if the weights are close enough and more important, the money is there.

Mike Tyson Fan

“Bad” Brad,

Long time reader since your days at Fightnews. We met  about 12 years ago at Ballroom Boxing up in Glen Burnie. I just read your interview with Mike Tyson and man and I want to commend you on not rehashing bullshit from his past. We all make mistakes and his are magnified by 1000 because of his fame. I voted yes on your poll that he would rule the heavyweight division today. Do you feel even at his age now, if he got in shape, he could be a champ again?

Ben A.

Ben,

Thank you very much for your kind words. Man Ballroom Boxing ruled and my buddy Scott Wagner was king back then when he put those shows on. No, I don’t think Mike could rule today. I say that because his heart from his own words, is no longer in it. However, I will tell you this. If he announced today, he was coming back, got in shape and fought guys like George Foreman did at the start of his career, the boxing world would go nuts. And yes, if he beat them, he would get a shot at a title. I personally want Mike to stay where he is now because he from his own admission is very happy with life right now for the most part and I think that came across in our interview you read.
