Lucian Bute STUNS the Boxing World – Breaking Boxing News

InterBox has confirmed that former IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (31-2-0, 24 KO) will lace up the gloves against recent WBA title challenger Roberto “The Beast” Bolonti (35-3-0, 24 KO) on Saturday, December 6th at the Montreal Bell Centre. The undercard portion of the program will be unveiled in the next few weeks.

“I wanted to face a quality opponent who is coming to fight. Bolonti is a persistent, come-forward boxer who is difficult to rattle. This is exactly what I need, and exactly what I will train to counter,” stated Bute.

“Bolonti is an excellent challenge for Lucian, and InterBox is very happy to have concluded an agreement with this popular boxer of world caliber . Bolonti had several other options but chose to fight Lucian. Judging by the performance of Bolonti in his last fight for a world championship, our fans are in for a real treat,” said InterBox President Mr. Jean Bédard.

“I feel better and more confident for this bout, than for others I had abroad before. It is going to be a good fight for sure. I want to win clearly, in order to have a new world title chance; because this fight against Bute will be like a bridge for another world championship opportunity,” commented Bolonti.

Armed with endurance and no quit, Bolonti has never been knocked out in his professional career. In his last bout, Bolonti went the distance with WBA World Light Heavyweight champion Juergen Braehmer in Germany. Bolonti had won five bouts in a row before the loss to Braehmer. Bolonti also went the distance with Tony Bellew.

Lucian’s preparation ahead of December 6th has already begun. Lucian is headed to California in the next few hours to join Head Trainer Freddie Roach. Over the next several weeks Lucian will accompany Roach and train at 8-time World champion Manny Pacquiao’s training camp in the Philippines ahead of Manny’s November 22nd WBO title fight clash against Chris Algieri.
