Roberto Duran, Juan Laporte, Mia St. John and Congressman Jim Moran Join Fight For Children – Boxing News

The promotional event hosted by Becky Brand of the Qorvis MLSGROUP as one of the preview events for the 25th annual Fight for Children event being hosted at the Washington Hilton tonight was was enjoyed by all that attended. The smiles and enthusiasm from the children, teens, young adults and adults made all the attending champions, Juan Laporte, Alicia Ashley, Heather Hardy, Karl Dragan, Chazz Witherspoon, Mia St. John, Demarcus Corley and legendary boxer Roberto ‘Hands of Stone’ Duran genuinely welcomed and loved. Each fighter gave inspirational on being present in your life, knowing who to choose to be in your life that is positive, believing in yourself, setting goals and achieving them and also having fun and enjoying life using boxing as a mechanism to be fruitful in life. Congressman Jim Moran was in attendance to welcome the champion fighters and gave insight into his own boxing career and how the gym initially started.
The Alexandria Boxing Club (ABC) is run by Dennis Porter. He does an excellent job with his assistants in both training and preparing these children and young adults for any and all adversities in life through boxing. I encourage anyone in the area to stop by and see the wonderful job they are are doing.
