NXT Results 12/18/14: Owens Continues Rampage, Takeover Fallout

This week’s NXT kicked off with former NXT champion Adrian Neville. Neville cuts a promo and tells the crowd that he’s proud of his performance at R. Evolution and that Sami Zayn deserves to be champion. Neville adds that he wanted to introduce Zayne as champion but Zayn isn’t present because of the attack he suffered by Kevin Owens. Neville calls out Owens and out he comes.

Both men end up face to face in the ring and Neville says that Owens’ actions were shameful. Owens says that Neville’s opinion is irrelevant and that he’s going to take full advantage of finally being in NXT. Owens says he’s here to get to the top and he’ll fight anyone, including Neville. Owens then leaves the ring.

They show Becky Lynch’s attack on Bayley and then a promo with Becky where she explains her actions. She says she’s learned a lot from Sasha Banks and that her next move will be to end Bayley’s career.

Bayley vs. Becky Lynch

Becky charges in on Bayley and the two go back and forth. Bayley gets the upper hand and starts working Becky from corner to corner. Becky turns it around with a shot to Bayley’s injured knee and connects with a couple of power shots. Bayley stays in control for most of the match. She sells her injured knee and Becky capitalizes by locking on the Four-legged Clover, forcing Bayley to tap out.

Winner: Becky Lynch by submission.

We see some footage of the Vaudvillains match against the Lucha Dragons and then we see them talking to William Regal showing him that the Lucha Dragons didn’t pin the legal man at Takeover and they want a rematch. Regal says he’ll consider it.

Bull Dempsey vs. Mr. 450

Bull Dempsey hits his opponent with all sorts of power shots before ending this squash with a flying headbutt off the top.

Winner: Bull Dempsey by pinfall.

Immediately following Dempsey’s win, Baron Corbin comes out and briefly stares down Bull before heading to the ring for his own match. He quickly squashes another wrestler who isn’t even introduced with the End of Days.

Corbin then walks up to Dempsey on the ramp and Bull shoves him then runs away.

The Certified G’s vs. The Ascension

Big Cass starts off against Viktor and looks pretty strong until Enzo hits his teammate with a blind tag and is immediately laid out for the 3 count.

Winner: The Ascension by pinfall

The Ascension cuts a promo after the match telling Itami and Balor that there’s still a lot of unfinished business between the two teams.

Adrian Neville vs. Kevin Owens

Neville moves in on Owens and Owens slides out of the ring. Owens takes his time coming back in. He swings at Neville but Neville counters and delivers a big kick, sending Owens back to the outside again. Owens then hits Neville hard a few times and Neville comes back and tosses him with a rana. Owens rolls outside again to keep the slow pace.

Neville goes outside and Owens jumps all over him. Owens tosses him back into the ring and nails a chop and a big knee in the corner.

Neville fights back but Owens remains in charge now. Owens continues to work over Neville. Owens tells the crowd, “Nothing I do makes me shameful” and he calls Neville a joke. Neville rolls around in pain as Owens keeps up the punishment.

Neville somehow makes a huge comeback, nailing a springboard dropkick that drops Owens for a near fall. Neville tries to head up top but Owens blocks him, delivering a monster gut buster followed by a senton for 2. Owens comes at Neville in the corner, chops him and works him up to the top. Owens falls and Neville sets up for a the Red Arrow before being taken down by Owens. Owens lands a huge DDT but Neville surprisingly kicks out. They battle back and forth and Neville gains a full head of steam and hits Owens on the outside. Both men are down as the ref starts the count. Neville gets up but Owens tosses him into the ring post. The ref finishes the count and the bell rings to end the match in a draw.

Result: Double count-out

Owens is livid that the match is a draw and takes the former NXT Champion and nails the devastating apron powerbomb to end the show.
