Hello RSR readers and Happy New Year to each and every one of you. I truly hope that whatever you couldn’t find in 2014, you do in 2015….. Now let’s talk about the title of this article. Here is the shocker… Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, JR. have yet signed to fight. They have traded tweets and their promoters have pointed the fingers back and forth. And guess what? Many including me, don’t give a flying rats ass if this fight is made anymore. It’s five years past its expiration date and though I am not a fool to say it will not still bring in tons of money, is that what it is really all about? How about let’s go oldschool and say, “The BEST fought the best, to be called the BEST, Period!” Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns and Roberto Duran, can I get an Amen my Brothers in Boxing?

How about this example for the best fighting the best…… The late great Salvador Sanchez in his prime faced an in his prime Wilfredo “Bazooka” Gomez in a major fight way back on August 21, 1981. Going into the fight, Gomez was 32-0-1, Sanchez was 41-1-1. Pally, you can’t get better records than that and both these LEGENDS and they deserve the title, didn’t give a flying F*&^ about their records! They just wanted to fight and gave the boxing public the fight they clamored for. Hello Floyd, take a page out of their book!

Telegram for Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, JR. You are both great fighters no doubt. However, you are robbing the greatest sport in the history of all sports no matter how much crap it takes in the world of what is in fact, so great about it….. And that is, two superb fighters getting it on in the middle of the ring, to determine who is the Best P4P fighter, for the boxing fans who still love the sport…..
