Officials Under Fire for ANOTHER Missed Call in Dallas?

NFLBy Debbie Edwards

It’s 4th and 6 and the Cowboys are running out of time. There are 6 minutes left in the game, and they are down by three points.

Jason Garrett and his team decide to gamble in hopes of extending the drive. Romo steps under center. Confident, he knows that keeping this drive alive is crucial in mounting the comeback of the season. The ball is snapped, Romo drops back, surveys the field, and has just enough time to complete a pass that keeps the season alive, connecting with Jason Witten on a 21 yard pass! How clutch is that?

Well, after further review, maybe not so clutch after all. With a pocket collapsing and a vicious Ndamukong Suh bearing down on Romo, left guard Ronald Leary had his hands full. In an attempt to protect his quarterback, Leary held Suh, giving Romo just enough time to complete the pass.

The NFL has admitted to the Lions that Leary held Suh, which should have resulted in a penalty and a 10 yard markoff. Dallas would have faced a 4th and 16, and would likely have punted, changing the complexion, and possibly the outcome of the game.

Dallas will face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field. The high is projected to be 19 degrees.
