New Feud with Ryback is Must Win for Bray Wyatt

RybackBy Nick “Red” Conley

So after weeks of confusing promos and largely speaking nonsense, it was revealed on the April 27 edition of Monday Night Raw that the self-proclaimed “eater of worlds” Bray Wyatt will begin a feud with Ryback. This feud certainly makes sense, as both wrestlers are well-known and great competitors, and could make a great mid-card match-up (although this wrestling fan thinks Bray Wyatt should be competing for the heavyweight championship belt, not stuck in the mid-card). What makes this even more interesting is that Ryback and Bo Dallas have been feuding over the last week (Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt are brothers in real life). It is possible that WWE Creative may write this into the storyline and in some way or another, link Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas in the ring.

Regardless of what happens with Bo Dallas, this new feud with Ryback is really a must win for Bray Wyatt. After months and months of calling out the Undertaker, Bray Wyatt lost to the Undertaker at WrestleMania. While this was largely expected, as no one anticipated the Undertaker two lose at two WrestleMania’s in a row, the loss hurt Bray Wyatt. It is unfortunate because Bray Wyatt is one of the most talented wrestlers and speakers on the roster, but has almost consistently been let down by WWE Creative in the booking department. WWE Creative has had Wyatt talking in riddles most of the time instead of wrestling, something the WWE Universe is seemingly getting tired of. Again, Wyatt is a talented speaker, but his script is confusing and becoming boring. Fans want to see Wyatt wrestle.

Ryback has been getting a boost over the last several weeks after a stagnant few months, but Bray Wyatt needs to come out victorious in this feud. If WWE Creative wants to propel Wyatt and continue utilizing him as the “eater of worlds,” he needs to start winning more. If Wyatt beats Ryback, he should move on to start a feud with top superstars, such as Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, or Seth Rollins. While WWE Creative is notorious for sticking to one storyline at a time for each superstar, it would be interesting if Wyatt feuded with Ryback, and also worked with Bo Dallas in the same story or something separate, but I am not giving my hopes up. I am a big fan of Bray Wyatt, and for the sake of his character, I am really hoping he defeats Ryback and moves up to the main event.
