Dean Ambrose Added to Fatal 4-Way Match with Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Randy Orton at Payback on May 17th

The May 4 edition of Monday Night Raw was rather mundane and boring, except for a few moments of excitement. One of those moments was Dean Ambrose’s victory over WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins in a match booked by Kane. Actually, I would argue this was one of the best Raw matches in months. First off, when Kane booked the match, I was pretty excited as both Ambrose and Rollins have tremendous chemistry together and put on some of the best paper view matches in years. Both are incredibly talented and willing to put their bodies through torment to entertain audiences. When Kane agreed to add a stipulation to the match last night, which was if Ambrose won, he would be added to the main event at Payback on May 17 making it a Fatal 4-Way along with Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. So when Ambrose beat Rollins in a quick pin following interference from J & J Security, it brought life back to Dean Ambrose’s character and made the upcoming Fatal 4-Way at Payback much more interesting.

So on May 17, Ambrose is likely to lose, as Rollins, Orton, and Reigns continue to battle at the marquee level. Also, it is only a matter of time before Brock Lesnar returns and begins competing again for the title. Orton, Rollins, Reigns, and Lesnar for the foreseeable future will likely be involved in feuds and matches for the championship belt, and Ambrose will probably unfortunately fall back to the mid-card again, despite his consistent ability to produce in the ring and attract a large fan base. I hope WWE Creative can come up with a fulfilling and worthwhile feud for Ambrose that will propel his character, rather than leave it stagnant. While it is not advanced physics, I have been saying this for months, Ambrose needs to win matches. Last year, Ambrose went from explosive and at the marquee level to falling to mid-card and losing match after match. Ambrose has a unique talent and Creative needs to utilize this. Fortunately for the month of May, Creative is utilizing Ambrose effectively and the Fatal 4-Way on May 17 will be a match certainly worth watching.
