What to watch for:

An aging 40 year old Cheick Kongo is always in shape and shows an amazing physique. He is a knockout artist, but this former UFC vet is no spring chicken. Former champ 26 year old Volkov is experienced and younger, and is 5-1 since losing his title in 2013. I would expect Volkov to put another nail in the coffin of Kongo’s once-great career if he can last past round 1.

Striker Dave Rickles vs. grappler John Alessio? Man, I don’t know about that one!

I’ll go out on a limb and predict that favorite Pat Curran will be beaten by Emmanuel Sanchez in an upset. Sanchez is a hungry “Up and Comer” and Curran has been inconsistent in his last few fights. I could (and often am) be wrong!

Joe Schilling will likely get into a stand-up battle with Hisaki Kato and get a finish.

I’ll admit I don’t know anything about the preliminary card fighters except for Marcio Navarro, who is an MMA and kickboxing veteran who has fought on Dale “Apollo” Cook’s cards in Tulsa. He is a dangerous veteran, and will likely get a victory by decision.
