RSR Boxing Results: Shobox

Super middleweight Edwin Rodriguez, 17-0, 13 KO’s, proved too strong for James McGirt, JR., 22-3-1, 11 KO’s, battering him for the majority of nine rounds before the referee opted to stop it. McGirt elected to stand in front of Rodriguez, keeping a high defense in hopes that he would tire, but the continued punches took a toll on him and eventually he couldn’t block the incoming. After 8 rounds, Buddy McGirt, SR., told his son that he had seen enough but McGirt, JR., plead for another round and he got it and the punishment got worse and the fight was over. A good showing for Rodriguez.
