WWE Superstars and Significant Others

In light of the recent engagement of Lana and Rusev, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at other wrestling relationships. In the current wrestling world, we’ve got Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella, Jimmy Uso and Naomi, John Cena and Nikki Bella to name a few. Let’s see who else I found as power couples of the WWE.

Booker T. and Sharmell: Booker T. became King of the Ring in 2006 and declared Queen Sharmell as his wife. They were an obnoxious “royal” couple and Sharmell would order, “All hail King Booker!” as Booker T. arrived in the ring. Once Booker T. lost the World Heavyweight Championship in 2007, Sharmell’s reign on television was over.

Stone Cold Steve Austin and Debra: Austin and Debra were married in 2000. While Steve was a beer drinking, finger flipping bad boy, Debra was a sexy sweet Southern belle. Their marriage ended in 2003 and Austin moved on to wife #4 and Debra just moved on.

The Undertaker and Michelle McCool: The Undertaker has been wrestling for 25 years but Michelle’s career only lasted 7 years. He won 21 straight Wrestlemania matches and she was a 2 time Divas champion and 2 time Women’s Championship champion. This couple was married in 2010 and are still hanging in there despite their 15 year age difference.

Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth: Married in 1984, they started in WWE in 1985 and became one of the top acts in the sport of wrestling. When Randy was a villain, Elizabeth was the classy first lady of wrestling and the fans loved her. They split up on screen in 1989 but reunited two years later at Wrestlemania VII. They were remarried on screen at Summer Slam in 1991. Elizabeth left the WWE in 1992 and soon after, their relationship started to fall apart and they ended it in 1992.

Triple H. and Stephanie McMahon: The Authority. These two run the WWE and you can believe that every decision they make is in their own best interest. They dominated the sport 13 years ago and terrorized and brutalized the likes of the Rock, Mankind, Steve Austin and Chris Jericho. Triple H was referred to as “The Game” and Stephanie was the “Billion Dollar Princess.” They were the couple that fans loved to hate. They’ve been married since 2003 and don’t seem to be going their separate ways or leaving the wrestling scene anytime soon.

Vince and Linda McMahon: Since there would be no World Wrestling Entertainment without them, they are easily the biggest husband and wife couple in company history. Vince knew the entertainment part of the industry was the money maker and Linda supported his decisions as well as being a member of the Board of Directors. Linda was calm and soft spoken while Vince was a hot head and had a reputation for speaking his mind no matter what he was thinking. Married in 1966, this power couple has helped steer the WWE for decades. The future of professional wrestling is bright because of the hard work of this couple.

While there have been and are currently many more WWE couples, these are a few of the ones that I think are the most interesting. If history is a good indicator of the future, I have no doubt we’ll see many more engagements, marriages, break ups, remarriages and anything else imaginable. Sometimes they last; sometimes they don’t, but they always get our attention and keep us entertained.
