Saturday night in Brooklyn, New York fight fans witnessed not just one but two heavyweight championship fights for the first time in 115 years. Saturday night also made history in by being the first time a championship fight could be streamed through YouTube. To kick off the action Charles “The Prince” Martin, 22-0, 20 KO’s from St. Louis, Missouri but fighting out of Carson, California took on Vyacheslav Glazkov 21-0, 12 KO’s for the vacant IBF world title, a title recently stripped from Tyson Fury after Fury agreed to give Wladimir Klitschko a rematch. As the fight started both fighters started slow and the fight seemed rather awkward, as they had trouble adjusting due to both fighters being southpaw. In the third round, as the action began to pick up, Glazkov seemed to have slipped after being hit with a punch and Vyacheslav hit the canvas, the referee ruled it a slip but Glazkov was showing a noticeable slip when he got to his feet. Later that round, while trying to throw a punch, Glazkov’s knee buckled  and he went down causing him to be unable to continue making Charles “The Prince” Martin the new IBF Heavyweight Champion of the world. Charles stated after the fight “I want to unify, I ain’t got no fight” “I’m sorry for him but that’s a football injury”. Charles becomes only the second American to hold a piece of the heavyweight title in the last 8 years.

In the main event Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder 35-0, 34 KO’s, the undefeated WBC heavyweight champion from Tuscaloosa, Alabama looked to remain undefeated as he took on Artur “The Polish Pin” Szpilka 20-1, 12 KO’s. As Deontay took the long walk to the ring the polish contention made it clear that Szpilka was the crowd favorite as they showered Wilder with boos and whistles. From the face-off both men had a look of hate and confidence in their eyes. Most of the first round was fought on the outside with both fighters throwing big punches from a distance, and the amped up crowd singing in polish. Rounds two and three the fighters started to establish distance and both rounds were very hard to score with limited action. Then round four, boom, Wilder finally takes over with a stiff jab and a heavy right hand, Ronnie Shields tells Szpilka between rounds he needs to attack and backup Wilder.

Round five was much better for “The Pin” as Szpilka seemed to land the harder more aggressive shots. Through 7 it was a pretty close fight, causing it to be hard to judge. Both fighters landed their fair share of heavy shots. The 9th round started again with lots of back and forth action before “The Bronze Bomber” absolutely turns Szpilkas’ lights out with a counter right hand as he was looking to land a left. Deontay looked at the crowd and yells “I Told You”. Szpilka was taken out on a stretcher after the fight showing a true heart of a champion. Szpilka was talking, awake and, moving but was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures. The end came at 2:44 of round 9 by knockout. Deontay did walk over and told Szpilka “Thank you for a good fight the Polish have you to be proud of, we gave Brooklyn a good fight”. During the post conference, Tyson Fury entered the ring and began yelling in the face of Wilder “There’s only one Tyson Fury” “ Anytime any place anywhere, like I done Klitschko, you’re a bum”. Wilder responded by saying “ He had other mandatory dues, but once Fury was done at that side of the pond, he knew where to find him”. All three judges had Deontay Wilder up on the scorecards at the time of the stoppage.
