Never mind “Mexican style” – although we all love it – it’s “Russian style” MF’ers should be worrying about. Has anyone else noticed these former Soviet Union cats have been whoopin’ some serious ass lately? Dang! Kovalev, Postol, Beterbiev, Lomachenko, and even “GGG’s” home country of Kazakstan use the Russian system to train its amateurs. Yep. That’s right. That Ivan Drago s*** from Rocky IV finally came true!
Andre Ward may very well be one of the last remaining old skool type skilled American boxers out there. If and when he fights Kovalev you should be afraid. Very afraid. If he loses it will represent the final nail in the coffin of American boxing style in its current incarnation.

So Keith Thurman thought better of getting in the ring with Shawn Porter. Now on the neighborhood corner some MF’ers are saying Thurman crashed his car to get out of their scheduled March fight. Kenny Porter wants proof and who can blame him. He may or may not get it. All I know is “One Time” didn’t want that Porter work THIS TIME.
Speaking of Russia. The promoters of Deontay Wilder Vs Alexander Povetkin failed to come to an agreement on when and where they should fight. The match up between the WBC champion and the No.1 mandatory contender will now go to a purse bid. Chances are the Russians will win it.

Wilder doesn’t want to go to Russia to defend and may very well vacate the title all together to avoid the commitment. If he does choose to leave the green strap on the back seat of a taxi, he’s going to look real bad in doing so. After all he’s beaten a long line of pizza delivery guys, short order chefs, and taxi drivers on his way to the belt. He beat a champion in Stiverne who turned up looking like he’d trained at Krispy Kreme, and he’s struggled against three journeymen types in defending.
Now he’s due to face a live body warrior in Povetkin he might not fancy the job. Make of it what you will. I’ve only got one thing to say. Pseudo! Charles Martin – the IBF strap holder – showed how a champion deals with his business. He’s going to his challenger’s backyard to defend. I like this guy already.
I don’t know about you but I’m getting tired. Tired of all this GGG Vs Mayweather talk. People. It ain’t never gonna happen. Floyd ain’t gonna comeback to fight a dude who turns people into mincemeat bloody caricatures of themselves, and risk a loss to a bigger, stronger, hard punching killer from that deep Russian style amateur background. It doesn’t make any damn sense. He beat the guy a lot of people said would whoop his ass in Manny Pacquiao. So let it go.
Ya’ll need to start giving some love to that Asian booty…er, I mean boxing…scene. There are some straight up killers coming out of Japan, Thailand, and Philippines in the lower weight classes. Shout out to cats like Naoya Inoue – Japan, Nawaphon Chor Chokchai – Thailand, and Randy Petalcorin – Philippines. They’re gonna be making some serious noise this year. If the welterweights are boring you half to death – and they get BIG money to do so…SMH – watch the smaller cats tear s*** up!!! Life is tough down there below Featherweight!!! For a lot of these guys it’s fight or go back to the farm. No, I’m serious. These guys don’t play.
