Whatchagonnado: Four Alarm Fire for Timothy Bradley & Charles Martin Will Not Go Quietly!

whatcha-gonna-doBy Roy “Sharpshooter” Bennett

I don’t know about you but I’ve been waiting for the stars to align in the boxing universe. But it hasn’t happened yet. All that stargazing hasn’t done me any good whatsoever. The rug got pulled out from under me when the Vasyl Lomachenko Vs Nicolas Walters bout fell through. So I’m forced to return my gaze to more earthly matters.

Firemen with their HOSES!

The Manny Pacquiao Vs Tim Bradley third go round this weekend has got to be the most pointless fight out there right now. And no one is taking about it. But since we’re on the subject I’ll weigh in. Teddy and Tim will try to extinguish the flame that once burned so brightly in Pacquiao it lit up the whole boxing universe. But Pacman’s flame hasn’t roared in years.

If he wins or loses he retires. If Teddy and Bradley win the welterweights will scatter like rats in a sewer at the sight of a pair of fireman’s boots. In other words this fight is pretty meaningless. It leads nowhere for either guy. Pacquiao should’ve taken the road less traveled and given us all an early Christmas present by fighting Terrence Crawford. He should’ve gone out with a bang! Instead he’s going out with a whimper. Damn shame if you ask me.

Shut Up and take my MONEY!

So what the hell am I excited about? Well, apart from that new barmaid who recently caught my eye I’m Jonesing for the upcoming IBF heavyweight title smack down in London, England this weekend between Charles Martin and Anthony Joshua. Firstly, there are questions to be asked on both sides. Is Martin the real deal? Has this fight come too soon for Joshua? Does either guy have a chin? We’re gonna find out the answers to these questions and a whole lot more. I get the feeling Martin will not go as quietly into the night as Eddie Hearn is hoping. Charles Martin wants to keep that belt. And Joshua will have to be willing to spill some blood – both his and Martin’s – to get it. Just the way a championship fight should be.
