Manny Pacquiao Leaves Boxing With a Bang – Boxing Results

On Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Casino in Las Vegas Nevada, five time world champion Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley, 31-1-1, 13 KO’s and future hall of famer, eight division world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, 57-6-2, 38 KO’s took center stage in the rubber match of what is being labeled as Pacquiao’s last fight. The electric crowd of 14,000 witnessed two of the best welterweights in the world battle it out toe to toe for the newly created WBO Diamond Belt. The star studded crowd included Sergey Kovalov, Terrence Crawford and Jesse Vargas.

Through the first 4 rounds both Bradley and Pacquiao traded pot shots and at times hard shots in what seemed to be a very even fight from press row. In round 5 Manny hit Bradley with a huge left which lead to Timothy losing focus towards the end of the round and frustrating not only Bradley but his trainer Teddy Atlas in the corner as well. Then came round 7 Bradley again giving away another round as Manny hits Bradley with a two punch combo dropping him. Although it was not a clean knockdown Bradley’s gloves did touch the canvas leading to 10-8 round for Pacquiao. Round 8 clearly goes to Bradley as he changed the fight with a huge left hook to jaw of Manny followed up a three punch combo. With 40 seconds left in round 9 Manny again connects with a poweful left hook, this time completely flooring Bradley. After 12 all three judges had it 116-110. “Every round I was looking for the knockout but Bradley was tough” said Manny after the fight. “He’s very quick he’s very explosive” said Bradley “I was in there with a special man with Manny Pacquiao” Timothy and his team will now go back to the drawing board .

In the Co-main event of the evening Germany’s “King” Arthur Abraham , 44-4, 29 KO’s defended his WBO super middleweight title against mandatory challenger Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, 33-0, 24 KO’s of Mazatlan, Mexico. Abraham traveled to Las Vegas, to fight for the first time in the United States in nearly five years as he took on the younger Ramirez. Although the champion Abraham came into the fight as the underdog according to Vegas odds makers. From the start Gilberto’s height advantage over Abraham was clearly noticeable to everyone in attendance as the 6′ foot 3” Mexican fighter towered over the 5’9” Abraham. Ramirez came out using his reach and his jabs to control the first round. The second round brought a huge short right hook to the jaw of Abraham clearly hurting him. Through 4 the taller Ramirez continued to outclass the older Abraham as his age really began to show against the younger opponent. In round 6 Abraham was hit with a low blow a blow which seemed to piss off Abraham but only for that round because in the 7th Ramirez again found a home on Arthur’s chin with his heavy right hand. Through 11 Ramirez had landed 131 power shots on Abraham and controlled every aspect of the fight going into the 12th. Gilberto remained undefeated and became the first Mexican Super Middleweight Champion with the scores of 120-108 x3 to walk away with the WBO Title.

Also part of the under card labeled the the “No Trump Card” undefeated prospect and two time Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez 18-0, 16 KO’s, from Nogales, Mexico took on the seasoned pro Evgeny “El Ruso Mexicano” Gradovich, 21-1-1, 9KO’s from Oxnard, California for the NABO Featherweight title. Round 1 was all Valdez as he beat Gradovich to the punch time after time and seemed to have hurt Evgeny with his power. In round two Valdez continued his precise punches and beautiful ring generalship as he cut Gradovich over both eyes. In the 4th round with Oscar clearly in complete control young Oscar Valdez hit Gradovich with a solid left hook flooring Evgeny. With Gradovich unable to continue at the 2:14 mark of round 4 referee Russell Mora called a halt to the fight giving Valdez a 4th round TKO. “I think I evolved” said Valdez “I think I earned my spot today to fight for a world title. The 25 year old Valdez moves to 19-0, 17 KO’s.

To start off the PPV portion of the evening the undefeated 2012 US Olympian Jose Ramirez 16-0, 12 KO’s, from Avenal a small farming community in the Central Valley of California, took on Manny Perez, 25-11-1, 6 KO’s from Denver Colorado. Ramirez came into the bout defending his Super Lightweight Continental Americas title he won in a December against Johnny Garcia. From the 1st round Perez should the crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena that he was here for a war as Perez landed several hard shots on the face of Ramirez. In the second round Perez again landed several power punches on the face of Ramirez stunning Jose. Eventually Jose got into his groove and began to find his mark on Perez. The middle rounds brought much of the same as Perez and Ramirez exchanged shots in the middle of the ring with Ramirez in a complete dog fight with the lesser known Perez. After 7 Perez seemed to be wearing down as Ramirez began beating Perez to the punch and stayed one step ahead of Manny. The same continued through the rest of the fight and after 10 the judges had it 97-93, 98-92, 99-91 all in favor and still champion Jose Ramirez.

Nadjib Mohammedi, 39-4, 24 KO’s vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk, 8-0, 6 KO’s (10 rounds) for the NABF Light Heavyweight Title. Result: A hard right hand puts Mohammedi to sleep. The Ukrainian Gvozdyk gets the NABF light heavyweight strap

Devin Haney, 3-0, 2 KO’s vs Rafael Vazquez, 2-4, (4 rounds) Super Featherweight Results: Devin banks the lopsided decision W. Scores: 40-36 (3x)

Deniz Ilbay, 15-0, 8 KO’s vs Egidijus Kavaliauskas, 12-0 11 KO’s (8 rounds) Welterweight Results: In No surprise: Egidijus Kavaliauskas gets the shutout win. Scores: 80-72 (3x).

Leon Bauer, 7-0, 6 KO’s vs Ilshat Khusnulgatin, 12-1, 6 KO’s (6 rounds) Super Middleweight Results: Leon Bauer gets the UD win in the 2nd bout of the night. Scores: 59-55 (2x), 60-54.

Konstantin Ponomarev, 29-0, 13 KO’s vs Brad Solomon, 26-0, 9 KO’s (10 rounds) NABF Welterweight Title Results: Konstantin Ponomarev gets the Split Decision. Scores: 98-92 for Ponomarev, 96-94 for Solomon, 96-94 for Ponomarev. Ponomrev goes to 30-0,13 KO’s
