Southern California fight fans will be in for a treat Friday night as Golden Boy Promotions kicks off the summer with a big fight weekend as local fan favorites Ronny Rios, and female fighter Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada, make their LA Fight Club debut. Ronny will be back in the ring for first time since defeating Jayson “La Maravilla” Velez on the Cotto vs. Canelo undercard last November. The 126-pound contender, Rios, 25-1, 10 KO’s will be taking on tough Mexican, and So. Cal native, Efrain Esquivias, 17-4-1, 10 KO’s. Esquivias is best known for his big knockout win of former Champion Rafael Marquez, and sending Marquez into retirement.

Rios who is from Santa Ana will be back in action for the first time in nearly seven months, and with Golden Boys stable of fighters that include, Abraham Lopez, Julian Ramirez, “JoJo” Diaz, and Diego De La Hoya at Featherweight, Rios needs to look impressive and not overlook the veteran Esquivias. With an impressive victory Friday night, Rios has the opportunity to make 2016 a stellar year.

Also making her Belasco debut is East LA’s Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada, 6-0, 1 KO. Seniesa who had a wonderful amateur career was part of Team USA Boxing and won the 2006-2007 Junior Olympic Nationals, where she was presented with the “Outstanding Fighter” award. She also PicsArt_06-01-08.17.27won the Silver Gloves from 2001-2005, the PAL nationals from 2004-2007, and the Ringside World Championships from 2004-2007. Following her 2009 National Championship victory, Seniesa represented Team USA in the 2009 world continental championships, located in Quilaquil, Ecuador. At the end of 2010, she won her last amateur fight in Evansville, Indiana. “Super Bad” had over 100 fights in the amateurs and finished her amateur career with a record of 97-4. As a pro Estrada is keeping busy as she is coming off a unanimous decision victory on the GGG vs. Wade undercard in April. The 23 year old Estrada is quickly becoming a fan favorite here in So. Cal. and with her come forward, brawler style, she’s guaranteed to make plenty of new fans Friday night as she takes on Christina Fuentes, 4-7-5, from Laredo Texas.

Also on the card Friday night in the co-main event is Brooklyn, New York native Zachary “Zungry” Ochoa, 14-0, 6 KO’s as he takes on fellow Puerto Rican fighter, Luis Joel Gonzalez,11-3-1, 6 KO’s. Ochoa built his reputation on the tough local circuit in the Big Apple, but since 2015, the 23-year-old has taken his show on the road, winning fights in Texas, Puerto Rico, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. In October of last year, he thrilled fans at The Belasco with a 3rd round stoppage of Alejandro “Soma” Rodriguez, and he’s looking for a similarly spectacular outcome Friday night. Fighting out of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Luis Joel Gonzalez is seeking a return to his winning ways after tough decision losses to Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed and Clarence Booth in 2015. Before that, the 26-year-old southpaw was impressive in winning 11 of his first 13 bouts, and he expects to give Ochoa all he can handle in his California debut.
