Sure many will not like the title, but let’s keep it real RSR readers. Roy Jones, JR. is embarrassing his boxing legacy by continuing to fight at age 47. He has been shot for a long time, and should have retired in 2005, after the near death experience Glen Johnson gave him via savage knockout in the 9th round that if you need to be reminded, he laid on the canvas for close to 15 minutes afterwards! Since that fight, the once invisible Jones, JR. has had 20 fights and his record is 14-6 with his wins over for the most part, very weak opposition. Don’t be deceived by the wins because in those six losses, he was brutally knocked out by Danny Green, Dennis Lebedev and most recently Enzio Maccarinelli. Not to mention the 2nd round knockout at the hands of Antonio Tarver in 2004 the fight before the Johnson one!

Also, let’s not forget and don’t sugarcoat it folks because I won’t, the embarrassing match he had against a fan where if the he knocked out the once great Roy Jones, JR.,he won a 100k purse!

Now news has come out that Jones, JR. is taking on Rodney Moore, 17-11-2, 7 KO’s on August 13th in Pensacola Florida. Here’s the thing folks that Jones, JR. will not tell you in this farce! Moore has lost his last 9 fights and between 2005 and 2011 he didn’t fight a single time! How does RJJ 3the Florida Boxing Commission sleep at night sanctioning this bout? Sure Moore at 40, and losing his last 9 fights should and I repeat, should be no threat, but Jones, JR. at 47 is completely shot! “RJJ” has ZERO BUSINESS in any boxing ring and shame on any commission in the US or overseas that grants him a boxing license.

The once great Roy Jones, JR. is not in a wheelchair like the legendary Joe Louis was or the greatest of all time Sugar Ray Robinson who if you didn’t know, died of Alzheimer’s Disease. Or finally, the Legend and hands down one of the most beloved boxers of all time, Muhammad Ali who suffered and recently as we all saw died from complications of Parkinson’s Disease brought on by boxing.

Roy if you are reading this, you have a very good chance of one of the above afflictions that happened to much greater fighters than you and each are guilty of the same thing you are doing by fighting on way too long.

RJJBoxing commissions if you are reading this, shame on you too! You know Jones, JR has nothing left and you have seen the brutal knockouts he has taken. Stop the MADNESS now and protect the fighter which is your job when he can’t do it himself…
