Frank Holm: “Dennis Ceylan is Ready to Become Denmark’s Next European Champion!” – Boxing News

DCCoach Frank Holm insists Dennis Ceylan (17-0-1, 8 KOs) is ready to become Denmark’s next European Champion when he challenges Ryan Walsh (21-1-1, 10 KOs) for the vacant Featherweight title on October 15 at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn.

Holm says Walsh may be underestimating the Danish-boxer, who he believes has the superior boxing skills and the ability to KO the current British Champion.

“I think Ryan might be underestimating Dennis’ strengths,” said Holm.

“Ryan is a physically strong fighter, but Dennis is the better boxer, and if the opportunity comes, he has the tools to knock him out. Obviously, we won’t go looking for the knock out, first and foremost, we will concentrate on winning the rounds so there’s no doubt about the decision if it goes to the scorecards.’’

Ceylan, who grew up in orphanages in Aarhus, has a special bond with Holm, who as a coach and mentor has played a pivotal figure in the fighter’s life. This European title challenge comes as a culmination of many years hard work for both men.

“I always knew that Dennis could go a long way in boxing,’’ said Holm.

‘’I’ve had a role in Dennis’ life, both inside and outside of the ring, and it’s been a long, long journey to reach this point, with lots of ups and downs along the way.’’

A two-week training camp in London at Stonebridge Boxing Club has created a great sense of optimism ahead of Ceylan’s biggest career test.

“We’ve had the perfect preparation,’’ said Holm. ‘’And I’m very happy with what I’ve seen from Dennis. His timing is exactly where it needs to be and he’s free from any injuries. Dennis is ready to become Denmark’s next European Champion!”

Dennis Ceylan’s European title fight with Ryan Walsh tops a blockbuster bill at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn on October 15, which also features rising Danish stars Abdul Khattab, Rashid Kassem, Dina Thorslund and professional debutant Mikkel Nielsen.
