Undefeated Mike Reed Takes on Jose Aaron Herrera October 14th At the 2300 Arena – Boxing News

Undefeated junior welterweight prospect Mike Reed, 19-0, 11 KO’s squares off against Jose Aaron Herrera, 29-5-1, 18 KO’s in one of the three premiere matchups on October 14th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA. In his last fight, Reed, who is a 23-year old native from Washington D.C., stopped Abraham Cordero in six rounds in Madison Square Garden back on June 11th of this year. Herrera, fighting out of Mexico, has lost his last two bouts, including a knockout loss to undefeated Regis Prograis back on March 25th in Miami, Oklahoma.

Also on the same card, NABF Junior Lightweight champion Tevin “American Idol” Farmer, 22-4-1, 5 KO’s is scheduled to face Orlando Rizo,19-7, 11 KO’s in an eight-round junior lightweight contest. Farmer, a North Philadelphia native, has won his last fifteen straight bouts, including a ten-round unanimous decision victory over Ivan Redkack at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York back on July 30th.

Farmer is ranked No. 6 in the world by the World Boxing Council (WBC), No. 14 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF). “It feels great to be back here in Philly,” Farmer said. “I haven’t fought here in almost three years. I get a chance to let my city see my growth as a boxer. It really means a lot to me because I have been itching to fight here. I have friends and family who have never seen me fight in person. Now they have that chance. October 14 is another day toward my goal of becoming a world champion. I am not taking Rizo lightly; I must be at my best. It’s time to continue my winning streak. Philly stand up!”

Super welterweight prospect Tyrone “Young Gun” Brunson, 23-6-1, 22 KO’s, another Philadelphia native, is scheduled to fight against undefeated Ismael “Tito” Garcia, 10-0, 4 KO’s in the other co-main event. Brunson scored a knockout victory back on August 5th at the 2300 Arena, ending a four-bout losing streak. Garcia, fighting out of New Jersey, won his last fight back on March 18th (also at the 2300 Arena) against Carlos Garcia by split-decision.

Also featured on the card includes a contest in the lightweight division between Victor Vasquez,19-11-1, 9 KO’s and Osnel “Prince” Charles,10-15-1, 1KO.

The October 14th card is promoted by J Russell Peltz (Peltz Boxing Promotions, Inc.), Brittany Rogers (Bam Boxing), Joe Hand (Joe Hand Promotions) and Lou DiBella (DiBella Entertainment). The event can also be watched live on the web @GoFightLive.com.
