The fight will be featured on the undercard of Danny “Swift” Garcia against Colombia’s Samuel Vargas. Jarett Hurd, who is a undefeated rising star is also set to fight opposite of Jo Jo Dan on a separate under card bout.

Fortuna, a former world title holder is ready to make a statement against his undefeated opponent. Fortuna is coming off of a win against Marlyn Cabrera of the Dominican Republic.

Douglas, the Delaware native is confident as he gets ready to step into the ring against Fortuna.

“Fortuna is a very decent and explosive fighter. He’s a former world champion and I expect him to stand up and get back what he thinks is his. He wants his rematch with Sosa and we are in each other’s way. He’s a frontrunner in the ring. He will try to start strong and I am prepared for whatever he brings to the table. Whether he boxes or fights me. I will make adjustments,” said Douglas.

Fortuna recognizes that his opponent is a young hungry fighter capable of pulling off a victory. He understands that he will need to be patient and pick his spots.

“Douglas is a prospect who has looked pretty good coming up. He wants to get to where I’ve been. He might be looking past me. I think that his style my style perfectly. I’m going to have openings and I just need to take advantage”, said Fortuna.
This fight is one that both men need to win badly. Fortuna is looking for a future title opportunity if he gets back on track with another win. He lost his title in China back in June of 2016, his conqueror was Jason Sosa.

Douglas can prove that he belongs with some of the best in the super featherweight division with a victory. Fortuna is no slouch and is a skilled fighter, it would be a huge win for Douglas and the most impressive of his career.

The electricity inside the ring has the potential to be dynamic when these foes meet in the ring. These fighters may very well steal the show on a night when Garcia is going back to his home crowd in Philadelphia.
