In a recent interview with TV Show host Oprah Winfrey, First Lady Michelle Obama says the biggest challenge with helping military families is the fact that they rarely ask for help.

“They never ask for help because you don’t do that when you’re in the military,” Mrs. Obama told Oprah in an interview to be broadcast Thursday. “You get it done. That’s how you’re trained. That’s what you’re taught.”

Mrs. Obama appears with journalists Tom Brokaw and Bob Woodward, who also talk about their work with military families.

The First Lady, confesses she has made military families a focal point of her White House work, and said “they impress her in many ways from their willingness to sacrifice without complaint moves me every single time. Whenever I’m feeling bad, feeling sorry for myself, I suck it up because of these families.”

RSR salutes Mrs Obama and all the military families and service members around the world serving in harms way.
