The WBA Super-Lightweight World Championship will be contested between Kiryl Relikh and his WBA Mandatory Eduard Troyanovsky in one of the quarter-finals of the World Boxing Super Series after the Russian former World Champion has entered the tournament.

38-year-old Eduard Troyanovsky (27-1, 24 KOs) from Omsk, Russia previously held the IBF and IBO titles and now has the chance to become a world champion again and win the Muhammad Ali Trophy in the Super-Lightweight edition of the World Boxing Super Series.

“I am very happy to take part in the tournament,” said Troyanovsky. “The Muhammad Ali Trophy is something really special for any boxer in the world, maybe it could be more prestigious than championship belts because not everyone can get this trophy,” said Troyanovsky.

“My motivation to win is my biggest advantage in the tournament,” continued the Russian fighter.

“We are very happy to announce a world title fight between a current and a former world champion,” said Kalle Sauerland, Comosa’s Chief Boxing Officer. “These are two amazing KO-artists. The Bantamweight tournament will be exceptional and we will announce further high-profile names very soon.”
