Matchroom Boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, has just announced through a post on Twitter, the dates for Anthony Joshua’s next two fights. With one taking place this year and the next taking place early in 2019.

Both contests will be held at Wembley Stadium in London, the English National stadium which has a 90,000 capacity.

Hearn’s tweet read: “AJ’s coming home! Delighted to announce Anthony Joshua’s next two fights will be at the National Stadium – Wembley – September 22nd and April 13th. September show announcement next week.”

With those fight dates being announced and with back and forth negotiations between Joshua and Wilder over the past few weeks, one can only assume that the September show will see AJ take on mandatory challenger, Alexander Povetkin.

Providing that Joshua makes it through his contest with Povetkin, we can assume that the April date set for next year, will see the long awaited showdown with WBC Champion – Deontay Wilder.

All we can do is wait patiently for another announcement from Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua’s team and hope that a deal has finally been made for Joshua Vs. Wilder early next year.

It’s a longer wait then boxing fans would’ve liked, but if a fight has been agreed then that’s all that matters!
