Felix Diaz STEPPING UP Attacks on Terence Crawford: “My Bags Are Packed For Omaha! I’m Ready Are YOU?
Top-rated junior welterweight Felix Diaz wants a fight against Terence Crawford, and the Olympic gold medalist wants it bad. Earlier this week, Diaz called out the undefeated two-division world champion Crawford, and it doesn’t seem as though he is planning on quieting down anytime soon.
“I said it earlier and I am going to keep saying it, Crawford is the fight I want,” said Diaz. “There was a ton of positive responses throughout the industry after I called him out the other day, and rightfully so. Stylistically, this is a can’t-miss fight. Everyone knows it, including him. I have no problem going to Omaha for it either. He is the champion. I have no issues going into his backyard and taking his belt from him. We can fight in his mother’s kitchen if that’s where he is most comfortable. My bags are packed for Omaha. I’m ready. Terence, are you?”

In the 2nd round he lost the fight as his eye socket was broken but he kept going. By the time that the 5th round had come around he was fighting no fewer than 5 of the men that he was told was one of the guys who was the best on the planet – and that sentence made sense to him at the time!
Everyone knew it was a massive ask – beat Gennady Golovkin 36-0, 33 KO’s, after bulking up to be two weight divisions above the one in which you are a world champion. It was something that had been done before but as the fight grew closer the enormity of the task was made increasingly real by references to long forgotten fighters in old newsreel who had last managed the jump in weight.

There was a lot of controversy following last season’s Thursday night Jets/Bills game at the MetLife. All talk about NFL betting odds was forgotten as the NFL became plagued with an unexpected problem.
The NFL’s Color Rush Uniform series saw the Jets dressed in special all-green uniforms while the Bills wore all red. And the problem that emerged as a result of these color choices caught the NFL completely off guard.
Color blind fans couldn’t tell the Jets and the Bills apart. The two teams will clash once more on Thursday night in Buffalo in 2016’s first color rush game. And naturally, the NFL is taking steps to prevent a repetition of last year’s conundrum.

There aren’t many fighters these days calling out undefeated two-division world champion Terence Crawford, one of boxing’s pound-for-pound best. Felix Diaz is, though. This is a fight that should be made.
Diaz (18-1, 8KO’s), the only boxer to win an Olympic gold medal for the Dominican Republic, is coming off a career-changing performance back in July. He dominated highly regarded, undefeated welterweight contender Sammy Vasquez, though he is a true super lightweight. Following his victory over Vasquez, Diaz signed with promoter Lou DiBella, with the goal of fighting the biggest names in the sport, and Crawford is at the very top of his list.
The 2016 United States Olympic Alternate boxed a near flawless fight en-route to the decision.
“I had a tough opponent, but I outclassed and used my jab and capitalized on his mistakes,”said Venegas.
The Fall of the King and the Breaking of the Ring of Power: Spinks Vs Ali I and the Championship Split
This fight was the only time, to my recollection, that my father and I sat down and purposefully watched a fight together. Dad just wasn’t a boxing fan; but Muhammad Ali was a big hero to me and Dad took interest in this fight, I think because I did. In February of 1978, I had just turned seven years old a few months before and believed Muhammad Ali could do no wrong and could lose to no one. I didn’t understand age and how it affects a fighter, or how ring wars and years of punishment pile up on a man’s back, weighing him down. I didn’t’ understand how important it was to be in the best of physical condition for any match and to underestimate no one. I also didn’t understand one crucial anomaly about boxing and really, anything in life.
