So much so that it turns out they were ripped up and had to be taped back together by National Archives staff, which was confirmed by the agency. Per the Archives “some of the Trump presidential records received by the National Archives and Records Administration included paper records that had been torn up by former President Trump,” the organization said in response to CNN’s questions.

The Archives did not confirm how it’s staff knew the documents had been torn by former President Trump himself, but referred to previous reports that included how WH staff had to tape up documents the former guy had torn up before. Back in 2018 there were reports that there were staffers in the White House whose only job duty was to reconstruct “WH communications and documents that crossed Trump’s desk that he would tear up,” per CNN’s report.

The shredded documents were handed over the the January 6th select committee in accordance with their request as part of their investigation into the events of the infamous Capitol attack. “The Presidential Records Act requires that all records created by presidents be turned over to the National Archives at the end of their administrations,” the Archives said in their statement.

The House committee has just started receiving and reviewing the documents after a win in the Supreme Court after a gregarious legal battle with Trump over the release of the documents. “We’re glad the Supreme Court ruled in our favor that we may have access to them” Committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (MS-D) told outlets. He continued, “And we look forward to the National Archives getting them to us.”

Although no specific details on what is in the documents have been revealed, court filings did show that the documents include WH call and visitor logs, copies of speeches and handwritten notes by the top advisers of the Trump administration. Additional articles of evidence under review include over 9,000 documents tuned over by Trump’s Chief of Staff Mark Meadows prior to his reversal in cooperation. Communications between certain House members, WH advisers, and non-WH advisers are also under review.

We may not know what the ripped up documents include just yet, but it’s safe to assume they’re probably quite incriminating for Trump and his inner circle. They may hold key answers to understanding what really happened on Capitol Hill that day. As this news is still breaking, once more details are available we will update this story.

[si-contact-form form=’2′]

By Nikki Slusher Apparently Donald Trump was putting in some *werk* into making sure the documents he’s been trying to hide were never seen again.
