Amanda Brumfield, 32, was convicted of aggravated manslaughter Friday and will be likely sentenced in July.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Brumfield avoided the more serious charge of first degree murder in the death of her best friend\u2019s daughter. It happened in October 2008, when Brumfield was babysitting. She would claim that the toddler hit her head while trying to climb out of her playpen, but that she seemed normal afterwards. Brumfield would contend that she took a nap and woke up and the child\u2019s body was limp.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution proved to the jury that the injury could not have happened the way that Brumfield contended.
